I am so excited to be presenting at the K12Online Conference with Jen Wagner this year! For the last two years I have watched the amazing and inspiring presentations created for this conference and I still can’t quite believe that my voice will be among them this year…
Just to whet your appetite, Jen and I have created two teasers (check out all of the teasers here as they’re posted) for our presentation: Connecting Classrooms Across Continents:
Thinking back, the first K12 Online Conference in 2006 was when I realized just how powerful the network can be – watching, listening and participating in all of the fantastic presentations totally opened my eyes to new ways of thinking and learning. If you haven’t participated in previous years, I can promise you won’t be disappointed. Personally, I love the fact that all the presentations are posted online so I can watch them anywhere, anytime – and refer back to them over and over again.
Plus, it’s totally free!
So, please, download the poster and share it with your colleagues !
Clever use of VoiceThread to create your trailer. I look forward to your preso.
What imaginative and persuasive pieces! Wish I were going. I hope I can catch up with your work from the conference. Elaine
Hi Kim,
I’m sitting in one of your sessions in Shanghai and I would love to have my grade 4 students get involved in some blogging or other online projects. We spoken socially a few times, I work at the Singapore American School and you know my wife Rebecca.
Love the themes and ideas behind the conference even though I can’t be there. Hopefully next year. Have a great time!
Two of my favorite people presenting together in one of my favorite conferences? How will I stand the excitement? These teasers are like SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo good!! Can I use the top one for PD at my school (that is if the school lets me ever do PD again – I’m so disruptive)?
Couldn’t stand it – I put it here http://durffstraining.wikispaces.com/Global+Learners if you object tell me and it will go away
@Mathew,
Thanks! I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product too :)
@Elaine,
Actually, the conference is entirely online – so nowhere to “go”! You can watch the presentations anywhere, anytime and they’re archived on the conference website for years to come. So, no worries, you’re going!
@Mark,
Excellent! Looking forward to working with you on a grade 4 project! Good to see you again this past weekend :)
@Jonhoff
Actually, the conference is entirely online – so as long as you have some time to sit at your computer (or iPod), you can attend whenever the moment suits you! Check the conference website for more details.
@mrsdurff,
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Please feel free to use the trailers wherever/whenever you feel appropriate!
Hey Kim!
I am so excited about your presentation. I am trying to figure out ways to get my teachers involved at school. It looks like it is going to be great. I am so impressed with how far you have come in 3 years!
Jenn
@jennifer,
Excellent! Last year we did a little kick off party where we watched the opening keynote together, which was a good to generate excitement. I know Jeff has done LAN parties at his school where different people host evenings to watch the presentations and then reflect. I think anything you do to share this learning opportunity is great! My goal is to make sure I have a bunch of downloaded sessions put up on our shared server so teachers can access them without having to wait for the live streaming.
